Thank You!

Laura Knollmaier, August 3, 2012 | Posted in Park and Recreation

We just wanted to write a little note to thank the nearly 2,000 people who came out to the Movie in the Park, “Tangled,” on Thursday night. The success of the programming at Centennial Lakes Park has long amazed our staff, and it is because of fantastic patrons like you that we are able to continue growing our programs and able to offer new and exciting events like our Thursday night Movies in the Park series.

Last night’s movie was sponsored by Kinderberry Hill, and it is only fitting that we express our gratitude to these and other sponsors like the Shoppes at Centennial Lakes, Lulu and Luigi, the Minneapolis Media Institute and Q.Cumbers for their continued support. We are blessed to thrive in a community that supports these types of events and their park system.

We hope to continue to grow and offer more opportunities for you to join us at the park, whether through our Farmers Market, Concerts in the Park, special programs like Lighthouse Night and the Torchlight Parade or the Movies in the Park.  If you have any questions about what we offer at Centennial Lakes Park or comments on events you would like to see held in the park, please feel free to contact us anytime. As we strive to make this park the “ultimate urban escape” in Edina. We hope to see you out here!

Thank you again!

Thank you and everyone involved in creating and supporting the “movie in the park series.” My family and I really enjoyed seeing the family friendly movies under the summer sky in good company. If there were any room for improvement, my suggestion would be to have a section of stadium seating for lawn chairs and the other section for blankets only. Regardless of how early we arrive, there seems to always be people that bring their lawn chairs and place them in the stadium section in front of the screen. This makes it really difficult for all the families that sit on blankets (or simply the lawn as many people did at Tangled) to see the movie. Thank you again for this great summer activity!
