Birthday Parties
Have a party as creative as you! The Edina Art Center offers a number of birthday party options for ages 5 and older. Please see our different party options below.
Clay Critters and Pots
Make animals out of clay, handmade pinch-pots and elbow bowls. Paint your pieces with colorful glazes and leave them to be fired in our kilns.
Painting with Everything (Almost)
Paint with fingers, brushes, feathers, sponges and more! Use fun materials to create abstract pieces full of color and texture to hang on your wall.
Spontaneous Watercolor
Learn the basics of watercolor while using salt, splatter, straws and more to create imaginative paintings.
Clay on the Wheel
Use the potters' wheel to create bowls and mugs. Learn the basics of throwing and create amazing, colorful pots!
Clay Luminary
Create a fun design that's all about you. Feature your initials, favorite animal or a pet. Carve your own one-of-a-kind design in to clay to allow light to pass through the carved openings. After the luminary has been fired, place a tea light inside to see the shapes come to life.
Discover and Draw Animals in Art
Learn how famous artists painted and drew animals. Create your own works of art drawing your favorite animals.
Printmaking
Learn the basics of block printing, carving and make multiples of an original artwork. Create trading cards or postcards to send to friends and family.
Artful Builders
Use what you see around you to create a one-of-a-kind sculpture! Boards and wire will be used for structure for embellishments of found objects. The only limit is your imagination!
Beading and Jewelry
Fashion a funky bracelet, necklace, key chain or survival bracelet by stringing beads and other fun objects together.
Parties last for 2 hours and 15 minutes: 90 minutes for art with an instructor and 45 minutes for the party. Come early to welcome your guests. Two times are available:
- 9:15-11:30 a.m. Saturdays
- 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Saturdays
We provide tables and chairs, refrigerator and freezer, an artist instructor and all art materials for the party. You provide two adult chaperones, refreshments, cake, decorations, paper goods and kids dressed appropriately for art activities.

Please make a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking which is applied to the total cost of the party. Fees are based on the number of participants and the type of activity planned.
