The City of Edina wants to ensure all residents and those who attend school here have an opportunity to participate in classes and activities for fun and education.

Two local programs help remove financial barriers: Connect Card and Edina Give and Go.

Connect Card

Accepted by: Edina Parks & Recreation, Southdale YMCA, Edina Basketball Association, Edina Baseball Association, Edina Football Association and the Edina Girls Athletic Association. Contact each agency for their discounts.

Covers: Free enrollment or a variety of discounts are available, based on each association’s standards. Open to all adults and children.

Parks & Recreation programs: Currently the card gives each family $300 per year for Parks & Recreation programs, which include everything from Edina Art Center classes to Playground Programs to Edina Aquatic Center season passes.

Other programs: Using that credit does not lower the amount available for another partner program, so people can still access the full discounts offered by the participating athletic associations.

Eligibility: Families with children who qualify for free or reduced-price meals at schools or people whose financial hardship prevents full payment of a program. This can apply to people with a short-term financial crisis such as medical expenses.

How to use: For City of Edina Parks & Recreation programs, call 952-826-0367 to register.

Connect Card program is administered by the Edina Community Foundation

Edina Give and Go

Provides: Scholarship grants for Edina students to participate in arts, academic and athletic programs in the community.

Covers: Up to $500 per student during school year and up to another $500 per student in summer.

Eligibility: Families must be within 200 percent of the poverty level for their family size.
