Joint Community Police Partnership

The Joint Community Police Partnership (JCPP) is a Hennepin County program that works collaboratively to enhance relationships between police and the community, specifically with immigrants, people of color, indigenous people, and faith communities. Each city tailors programming to their specific community.

Multicultural Advisory Committee

The Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC) is a huge part of the JCPP. The MAC is an engaged group of volunteers that will advise the Edina Police Department on how to better serve, communicate with, and understand the many cultures that reside in, work in, or visit the Edina community. Once formed, the MAC will meet monthly with police personnel to discuss topics that are important to their communities, build mutual trust, and open up two-way communication.

We are recruiting members to establish the Multicultural Advisory Committee now!
If you would like to apply, contact Lulu Thompson at 612-919-3814 or [email protected].

We are looking for MAC members who:

  • Live, work or worship in the City of Edina.
  • Embrace the diversity of the Edina community.
  • Are willing and eager to participate in challenging and meaningful conversations.
  • Can act as a bridge between the community and police department.
  • Will work collaboratively to enhance relationships between police and the community, specifically with immigrants and people of color in Edina.
