The Park Maintenance Department includes a Forester and two Forestry Technicians.
Responsibilities
Edina's Forestry Division is tasked with:
- Keeping trees, brush and vegetation in Edina's parks trimmed and pristine year-round
- Identifying vegetation problems along all City streets, alleys and sidewalks
- Clearing plants and weeds that could lead to potential driving hazards along roadways that border City property
- Notifying residents of potentially hazardous vegetation along roadways on private property that must be maintained by the property owner
- Identifying, marking and removing diseased trees and buckthorn on City parkland
- Replanting trees in City parks
- Answering questions and identifying diseased trees for Edina residents
