Engineering

The Engineering Department is the City's contract manager for the construction of municipal utilities and roads, associated with redevelopment of aging City infrastructure and new developments. 

The Engineering Department is responsible for planning, design, management and construction of the City's infrastructure, including streets, storm, sanitary, water and street lighting. This provides core transportation, sanitation, and clean water services to residents and businesses.

Lighting France Avenue for Special Causes

The color of median lighting along France Avenue can be changed for causes or charitable events, such as orange for World MS Day for multiple sclerosis.

Petition for Engineering Improvements

Residents can petition for the City to make improvements such as alley pavement, curb and gutter additions, sidewalks, street lighting or water, sewer or stormwater upgrades.

Process

Engineering will review the form, which is then forwarded to the City Council for evaluation. If the City Council wants the petitioned improvement explored, Engineering is tasked with conducting a feasibility study, a process that can take up to two years.
