Transportation

Effective transportation planning is critically important for a community such as Edina.

We strive to provide residents and visitors with safe and efficient infrastructure that limits negative environmental and aesthetic impacts whether you bike, bus, drive, walk or travel some other way.

Transportation Plans

Living Streets balances the needs of motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians and transit riders in ways that promote safety and convenience, enhance community identity, create economic vitality, improve environmental sustainability, and provide meaningful opportunities for active living and better health.

The Comprehensive Plan includes an entire Transportation Chapter that examines existing transportation infrastructure, uses, goals, vision and guidelines for the future. Much of the vision is based on community values reflected in Vision Edina.

Transportation Commission

Engineering Department and Transportation Services staff work with the Transportation Commission on matters related to the use and planning of the City’s transportation system.
