The Artwork
The 10-foot stainless steel sculpture of an open, seed-releasing pinecone sits in the middle of the maze in the northeast part of Centennial Lakes Park.
The Artist
Twin Cities sculptor Marcia McEachron designed the towering structure to represent prosperity and potential for growth and inspiration.
Funding
The project was completely funded by a gift to the Edina Community Foundation from Edina residents John and Jean Hedberg, whose family’s sand and gravel business once occupied the Centennial Lakes area.
