National Day of Racial Healing

Tuesday, January 18, 2022

The cities of Bloomington, Edina and Golden Valley will host a special virtual community event on the National Day of Racial Healing, Tuesday, Jan. 18.

The event, “Finding Calm in Chaos: Radial Self-Care in Uncertain Times” will be held via Zoom 6-7:30 p.m. and led by keynote speaker Dr. Joi Lewis of Joi Unlimited after an opening by the organizers.

The four simple practices of the Orange Method of Healing Justice are meditation, mindfulness, emotional liberation and conscious movement, or, as Joi describes them, “Get grounded. Get present. Get free. Get unstuck.”

Jan. 18, 2022, will be the sixth annual National Day of Racial Healing. The day was established in 2017 to share stories, deepen relationships and build trust to create a more just and equitable world.
