Thursday, July 12, 2018
This class is a beginning metal sculpture class. Students will learn how to create any style of sculpture by forging, hammering or assembling pieces of metal. Students will learn to weld metals using both gas and wire feed type of welders. Bring in your found art from your basement and learn to assemble pieces into a memorable sculpture for your garden or home.
Judd Nelson specializes in creating life size birds from the Midwest and will demonstrate how to create them. Modern or contemporary sculptures are also encouraged and artist Craig Snyder who specializes in this style will demonstrate techniques to create contemporary work. Students are required to wear jeans, long sleeve cotton shirts and boots or closed-toe shoes for safety consideration. *This class will be held in Mr. Nelson’s sculpture studio located near 394 and 494 and is a short distance from The Edina Art Center. **No class July 5.
