Black History Month is about celebrating our Black culture, and freedom from slavery. One of my favorite parts of Black history month is at my school, it is the only time all books put out about Black stories to read. I've read books about Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and other books by Black authors.

Yalihan Camara

Normandale, Grade 3, Age 8

Black History Month is about celebrating African American people who did great things. We learn about what has changed, improved and stayed the same for African American people. During this month I get to learn about and read about Ruby Bridges and do a presentation about our first woman vice president Kamala Harris.
