To me, Black History Month means celebrating important Black people who helped our society become what it is today and especially to end segregation. We celebrate so many people during this month, including Rosa Parks, George Washington Carver, Malcom X, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Barack Obama, just to name a small few. This year, I am especially happy to celebrate the accomplishments of our new Vice President, Kamala Harris, and our new Edina City Council Member, James Pierce (he is my friend, Kaitlyn's, dad)! We can't wait to see how Vice President Harris and Mr. James help to shape our country and city like so many Black people have before them.
