City, Edina Magazine Honor Photo Contest Winners

This year’s panel of volunteer judges included Angela Johnson, Sarah Dovolos and Allison Nolden of Edina Magazine; Glenn Gray, Chip Jones and Suzanne Wortham-Ressemann, area professional photographers; Scott Denfeld, Video Production Coordinator for the City of Edina; and Katie Laux, Graphic Designer for the City of Edina.

Photos entered were taken between June 2020 and June 2021 and were entered into one of five categories. Edina Magazine readers voted online in July to choose the “Readers’ Choice” award. One overall “Best In Show” winner was chosen. The winners of the 2021 Images of Edina contest are:

  • Business – “Sweet Treat at Snuffy’s” by Patricia Willette (pictured holding award with City Council Member Kevin Staunton)
  • People – “A Curly Monkey” by Rebecca Peterson
  • Activities & Events – “Trick or Treat” by Leah Steidl
  • Places in Edina – “The Streaks of 62” by Yash Mangalick
  • Plants & Animals – “Visible Breath of Wren song – Proud of his Edina House, too” by Martin Freeman
  • Readers’ Choice – “A Curly Monkey” by Rebecca Peterson
  • Best in Show – “Visible Breath of Wren song – Proud of his Edina House, too” by Martin Freeman

The contest is free to enter and is open to both amateur and professional photographers who reside, work or attend school in Edina. 

The 2022 Images of Edina photo contest, sponsored by the City and Edina Magazine, will open for entries in Spring 2022.
