Attempted Carjacking Reported in Pentagon Park Neighborhood

At approximately 4:09 p.m. Jan. 12 at a business in the 7700 block of Computer Avenue, an attempted carjacking was reported. The victim was exiting her vehicle when another parked next to her. A man demanded the victim’s keys. She complied, asked to retrieve her purse and ran toward a nearby business, when a second man chased her demanding her purse. The business owner witnessed this and chased the second man back to the suspect vehicle, which drove off and was later recovered in St. Louis Park. No one was injured in the incident and no weapon was used or implied.

The suspects’ vehicle, a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse with Minnesota license plate NLV-852, was taken in a carjacking in Richfield earlier in the day.

Edina Police are actively investigating this incident and gathering video evidence from the area. Residents are reminded to be careful and aware of their surroundings and call 911 if they observe suspicious activity.
