Walk With the Mayor to be Held May 21 at Rosland Park

Walk With the Mayor continues this spring to give community members the opportunity to share opinions and thoughts with Mayor Jim Hovland while walking through the city.

Edina, Minn., May 12, 2022 – Walk With the Mayor continues this spring to give community members the opportunity to share opinions and thoughts with Mayor Jim Hovland while walking through the city.

The May Walk With the Mayor is scheduled for 9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St. Walkers should meet at the pavilion near the playground. If there is rain, walkers should meet at Caribou Coffee in the Center Court of Southdale Center to walk inside instead.

“Join me at Rosland Park for Walk With the Mayor and see all the beautiful new trees that have been planted in the park by members of our community,” said Hovland of the 200 trees planted there earlier this month as part of the NextGen tree-planting initiative.

Participating in the Walk With the Mayor gives community members a chance to voice concerns, talk with Mayor Jim Hovland and get to know the city a little bit better while taking a walk through various locations in Edina. No prior registration is required to attend Walk With the Mayor; simply show up at the designated meeting time to walk and talk with Hovland.

Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes. For more information or to suggest a location for a future walk, contact the City’s Communications Department at 952-826-0359.
