Edina, Minn., July 5, 2022 – The Edina Police and Fire Departments will be out in the community on the first Tuesday in August for “Night to Unite.” Neighborhoods across the city have the opportunity to meet and greet the City’s police officers and fire personnel while enjoying time with their neighbors outdoors.
“We are looking forward to once again connecting with community members this summer at Night to Unite,” said Community Engagement Officer Emily Jepson. “Our Police and Fire staff are planning for a robust number of block parties and are excited to spend time with residents, building relationships and encouraging thoughtful conversations. Personally, I’m also looking forward to the food – there are some amazing cooks and bakers in our community!”
Night to Unite is designed to build neighborhood involvement by bringing first responders and communities together and bring awareness to crime prevention and local law enforcement efforts.
Block party organizers can request a free visit by a police car, fire truck, ambulance, Animal Control, Sparky, K-9 Officer or Bike Patrol Officer. Resources are limited because of the large number of neighborhoods taking part in the event, so register early to request a visitor.
Registration for the event is currently open at EdinaMN.gov/NighttoUnite. Registration deadline is 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 18.
