Edina, Minn., July 15, 2022 – Walk around with City Council Members Ron Anderson and James Pierce, Parks & Recreation Director Perry Vetter and Recreation Supervisor Amanda Clarke at Fred Richards Park to learn more about plans for the former executive golf course and the local option sales tax that would pay for improvements there.
The walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Fred Richards Park, 4400 Parklawn Ave. Participants should meet at the Fred Richards Park playground.
Mayor Hovland encourages residents to attend this event. “Please join the walk to hear about the wonderful improvements proposed for Fred Richards Park which we will be able to accomplish if voters approve a half-percent local option sales tax measure in November! You will all be very impressed with the proposals for these potential major park improvements.”
No prior registration is required to attend; simply show up at the designated meeting time to walk and talk with Anderson, Pierce, Vetter and Clarke.
Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. In the event of rain, the walk will be held at Southdale Center; participants should meet near the Caribou Coffee in the center court.
