Energy & Environment Commission Seeks Volunteers for Green Business Working Group

Edina, Minn., Jan. 30, 2023 – The City of Edina’s Energy & Environment Commission is looking for residents to assist with its Green Business outreach program.

The Commission has formed a working group to update and improve its Green Business outreach program, recruit new businesses, support local businesses focused on sustainability initiatives, assist businesses as they complete the Green Business application and promote recognized Green Businesses.

“The Commission is looking for outgoing individuals interested in helping with the City’s sustainability goals and talking with local business owners, explaining the Green Business Recognition program requirements and benefits,” said Sustainability Manager Grace Hancock, staff liaison to the Commission.

The working group will be comprised of seven people who commit to the volunteer work for one year. The group is expected to meet once a month and do work between meetings. It is estimated that volunteers will spend 1.5 to 3 hours per month working on the Green Business outreach program.

To apply for the working group, visit EdinaMN.gov/Volunteer. Applications are due Feb. 28. Appointments will be made at the Commission’s March meeting.

For more information, contact Hancock, 952-826-1621.
