Donations Sought for Edina School Supply Drive

Edina, Minn., July 6, 2023 – Donations of new or gently used school supplies are being collected by the City in July to give to Edina students.

Back-to-school preparation is stressful for teachers and parents in the community. This program is designed to lessen that burden and keep useful items from being thrown away.

Items such as pens and pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, folders, binders, unused composition books, scissors and rulers are welcome. Backpacks in good condition also are sought. Items should be appropriate for students in kindergarten through high school.

Drop off items from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays July 10-31 at the Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square. A collection area will be in the lobby; please do not leave items outside the building.

The collected items will be given to Edina Public Schools to hand out to its students.

No clothing or gear will be accepted during this supply drive. The City is hosting a Back to School  Clothing Swap from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Edina Senior Center to help students look their best for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Details on that event are coming soon.

For more information about the School Supply Drive, contact Recreation Supervisor Nicole Gorman at [email protected] or 952-833-9570.
