City Recognizes Seven More ‘Green Businesses’

Edina, Minn., July 28, 2023 – Seven more businesses were recently recognized as “Green Businesses” by the City of Edina’s Energy & Environment Commission (EEC). 

The EEC recognizes businesses that model green and sustainable actions. Galleria shopping center recently renewed its gold-level designation. Minneapolis Area Realtors, Paragon Pilates & Physical Therapy, Redline Property Partners and Stranger & Co. earned a new silver designation and Grandview Tire & Auto renewed theirs. Lush Cosmetics earned bronze.

Businesses earn points for taking green actions within their daily operations in the areas of solid waste, recycling, purchasing, energy use, landscaping and water conservation, transportation and more. Businesses can earn recognition as a gold, silver or bronze. Green Business are able to post their recognition level publicly for shoppers and other patrons. To maintain their recognition level, businesses are required to resubmit their application every two years. 

Other businesses that currently hold a designation are Accredited Investors Wealth Management, Lunds & Bylerlys, Southdale Center, Western National Insurance and Wooden Bill Brewing Company, gold; Bellmont Partners, Edina Community Lutheran Church, Interlachen Country Club, SoundGate Hearing Clinic and Waterfront Financial Group, silver; and Clothes Mentor and Serge & Jane, bronze.

Businesses of all types are encouraged to apply. Applications for recognition will next open in April 2024, around Earth Day.
