The Edina Transportation Commission will host a “commuter pit stop” at Utley Park, 4501 W. 50th St., on Twin Cities Bike to Work Day Friday, May 17.
The event is organized and sponsored by Our Streets Minneapolis, a volunteer organization that advocates for non-motorized transportation. Bicyclists from across the Twin Cities are encouraged to commute to work that day and visit pit stops across the metro for goodies, snacks and high-fives. Other stops near Edina include Hopkins Depot and Minnetonka Boulevard along the Cedar Lake Regional Trail, Farmstead Bike Shop in Minneapolis and Taft Park in Richfield.
The Edina Transportation Commission’s commuter pit stop will be set up at Utley Park from 7 to 9 a.m. Commissioners will serve snacks and provide giveaways, including free bike lights.
If rain is forecast for May 17, organizers will make a determination by 10 a.m. May 15 if it will go on as scheduled. If necessary, it will be rescheduled for Friday, May 24.
