The annual Up North Holiday Gift Gallery, featuring an array of artwork from local artisans, opens Nov. 14 at the Edina Art Center, 4701 W. 64th St.
The gallery includes all types of art, from jewelry to watercolor paintings, pottery to metal sculpture. Shoppers will find functional items for the kitchen, unique clothing and some creative food gifts as well.
Most items are priced from $5 to $275, making the Up North gallery an ideal spot to pick up everything from stocking stuffers to special gifts.
“For people looking for one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts for the holiday season, this is one of the best places to see a variety of styles and pieces you won’t find at any store,” said Edina Art Center General Manager Susan Tarnowski. In addition, she highlighted that it’s a great way to shop fop for gifts made in Minnesota.
The opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 14 will feature light refreshments, wine, live music and a chance to meet some of the artists and learn the stories behind their work. It’s also Member Appreciation Night. While the reception is open to everyone, Edina Art Center members get 10 percent off everything in the gift store.
Saturday, Nov. 16, will feature prize drawings for special handmade gifts throughout the day.
After the reception, the Up North Holiday Gift Gallery will be open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 27 (closed Nov. 28, Dec. 24 and 25). Admission is free.
