Possible Suspect in Illinois Double-Homicide Found in Edina

Edina, Minn., Nov. 23, 2019 – At 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, the Edina Police Department received a tip that a car matching the description of one involved in a double-homicide in Illinois was in Edina. Police responded to the 6600 block of Vernon Avenue.

Officers responded to the area and located the suspect inside the vehicle. While attempting to negotiate with the man, the suspect shot himself. Paramedics transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center. His current condition is unknown.

Officers from the Eden Prairie, Minnetonka and St. Louis Park police departments assisted at the scene, along with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. There were no other injuries.
