Why would Fire Station 2 need to be expanded or rebuilt?

Fire Station 2 on York Avenue is in fair condition, but the facility and site will not support the additional development necessary to add a second Advanced Life Support crew and, eventually, an engine company. Moving the station north and west of the current location will better center it and move it closer to growing areas of the community and provide a better response time to a greater area of the city.
