Election Judge Application

  1. What's an Election Judge?

    Election judges are essential to our democracy. They are responsible for administering the election procedures in the polling place on Election Day. Serving as an election judge is a great opportunity to serve our community and be involved in the election process.

  2. Work Hours

    6 a.m. to approximately 9 p.m. on Election Days. Judges in Edina must work the entire Election Day.

  3. Pay: $11 per hour

    • Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 - Primary
    • Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 - General Election
  5. Requirements
    • At least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen and a Minnesota resident for at least 20 days, or a high school student at least age 17
    • Able to read, write and speak English understandably
    • Attend mandatory paid training
    • Must not be the spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling or step-sibling of any election judge serving in the same precinct or of any candidate in this election
    • Must not live, either permanently or temporarily, with any candidate on the ballot at that election
    • Must not live with any election judge serving in the same precinct
