    Fall into fitness with Edina’s WALKtober Challenge from Oct. 1 to 31. October is ideal for walking; the temperatures are cool and the colors are spectacular. Walk outside, at home or in the gym and log your miles throughout the month using the provided interactive spreadsheet. Participants have the option to participate at no cost or pay $25 to be eligible for motivational prizes and get a pair of WALKtober mittens if they complete a 50K (31 miles) or 100K (62 miles).

  2. Free Buckthorn Dump for Edina Residents

    October 17, 2020, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Drop-off lot across from Braemar Golf Dome, 7420 Braemar Blvd.

    Rsidents must show a photo ID with a current Edina address. Buckthorn brush cannot be bagged, boxed or bundled. If it is, it must be removed from the container before being left at the dump. When at the dump site, please observe social distancing and other health guidelines in place. Before digging out buckthorn roots, call 811or visit GopherStateOneCall.org a few days ahead to allow time for public utilities to be marked. Treat any cut buckthorn stumps to halt regrowth and ensure killing the plant. Another free buckthorn dump will be held in spring 2021.

  6. HalloBoo Drive-Thru

    October 28, 2020, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM @ The route will take participants from the Edina Art Center to Rosland Park by the Edina Aquatic Center parking lot and provide an alternative option to door-to-door trick-or-treating.

    Put on your costumes, decorate your cars, and get goody bags or treats from local organizations as you drive through the spooktacular route at the City’s HalloBoo Drive-Thru from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The route will take participants from the Edina Art Center to Rosland Park by the Edina Aquatic Center parking lot and provide an alternative option to door-to-door trick-or-treating. DJ Bob will be at the Rosland Park shelter ready to entertain as participants near the end of the route. Visit Edinamn.Maxgalaxy.net to register by Oct. 23 or until timeslots are full. Organizations and business that would like to apply to host a station along the route can submit an application at EdinaMN.gov/HalloBooStation by Sept. 30. Station hosts will be encouraged to wear costumes and provide goody bags or candy to participants driving by. Decorating a station will be optional. Station hosts will be selected and notified by Oct. 2. There is no station fee to participate.
