Here is an opportunity to use an acetylene torch, metal buffer and metal kiln equipment every Monday morning or Wednesday evening, and the ability to work with other jewelry and metal artists. Students must be members of the Edina Art Center. *Art Center closed Jan. 15 and Feb. 19.

This wheel-throwing class is designed to help intermediate potters expand their skills and move past
their current plateaus. We will explore new and larger forms, improve trimming techniques and pay closer attention to the details that make a pot more successful. There will be personal attention and class projects as well as discussions about form, function and aesthetics to help support each student’s individual progress. *No class Jan. 15 or Feb. 19. Maximum 10.
Learn techniques for creating ceramic sculpture. If you want to create an animal, figure, abstract or some other type of ceramic work, this class is for you. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination! Students will learn proper architecture for creating sculpture. Individual attention is given to allow students to pursue their own direction. Come to the first class with your own project idea and we will work together to create it. Students must purchase their own clay on the first day of class, approximately $10-15.

An understanding of human form is essential for artists to be able to express themselves. Anatomy makes the figure; learn to draw the figure from inside out. We will do drawings of the front, side and back of the skeleton and then proceed to tracings of overlapping muscle structure. Master the figure, feet, hands and skull. All skill levels are welcome. *No class Jan. 15 or Feb. 19.

Demonstrations will cover hand-building and basic wheel-throwing techniques, as well as more advanced concepts upon request.
