    In this class students will learn the basics of animation and digital design. Students who enjoy going to various sites to see fun interactive animations will love this course. This class will utilize Adobe's award winning animation software in Adobe Flash. Students will create fun interactive animations that they can share with the world.

  5. Clay Fake Food (Age 8-10)

    Campers will create decadent looking food to trick everyone in their family. Cakes and Donuts, Chocolate Éclair and Breakfast Plate will be on the menu in this playful class. Come inspired! Campers will be coloring their projects with underglazes and a clear glaze will be applied. Projects will be kiln-fired and ready for pick up two weeks after camp.

  6. 1031: Members' Wednesday Afternoon Painting Open Studio

    Join artists working in any medium in our large, light and open Studio 14 on the lower level of the Art Center. The Painting Open Studio is set up as ‘pay-as-you-go’ and the daily fee is a very affordable $3 per session. Students must be members of the Edina Art Center. *No class July 4.

  7. 4356: Beginning Drawing

    Artists are “See-ers”. They literally see the world around them in a different way than the rest of us. Yet, all of us have the ability to be “see-ers”. To learn how to draw, we must first learn to “look” without perceptions. Students will practice this artist’s way of looking and drawing from observation, and experiment with a number of drawing techniques that have been used by artists over the centuries. This class is geared toward beginners, but is suitable for those who wish to refresh their drawing skills, or just need a class or assignment to get them going. *This class meets at Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square. *No class July 4.

  9. 3055: Summer Sampler

    Two instructors will teach three weeks of each 6 week class, demonstrating a specific skill and technique. Students will learn throwing on the pottery wheel along with hand building techniques. The class is designed for all skill levels. Beginning students will work on basic skills while more advanced students will be challenged to work on more complex forms. *No class July 4.

  18. 3164: Low-Fire Sculpture

    Are you an animal lover? Are you interested in sculpture? In this beginner class students will learn how to sculpt the animal form using low fire clay. Students will learn different modeling techniques that include coil, slab and pinch building. Students will learn about maquettes and how to scale up to create larger sculptures. Finally the class will discuss various surface finishing techniques that include underglazes, stains and paint. Students should come prepared with images of animals they would like to sculpt. *No class July 4.

    This class accommodates beginners, intermediates and advanced students. Beginners will learn the basics of throwing and glazing and begin by making a variety of bowl forms.
