    Battle of the Badges aims to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation through a friendly, life-saving competition between first responders. All blood types are needed, especially O negative (O-) and O positive (O+). Donors whose blood type is O+, O-, A- or B- can donate double red cells if they choose.   2. Walk With the Mayor

    Participating in the Walk with the Mayor gives community members a chance to voice concerns, share opinions and thoughts as well as just talk with Hovland while getting to know the city a little bit better. No prior registration is required to attend Walk With the Mayor, simply show up at the designated meeting time to walk and talk with Mayor Hovland. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. In the event of rain, the walk will be held at Southdale Center; participants should meet near the Caribou Coffee in the center court.
